Quick Easter Cards!
Well Easter crept up on me and I forgot to make some cards - Oops! I havent the Easter cartridge so thought I'd make the most of what I do have and improvise.
The 'Happy Easter' was done in DS with the Lyrical Letters Cart. I used Loop deloo sized at 1" and then I centered the circle shape of Jumbo flag shift and hid the contour lines of one of the circles. I love using the negative look at the moment. The paper I used was from a stack called Laundry Line by My Minds Eye.
The bunny is from New Arrival cart cut at 5" on brown and nude card stock. I haven't stuck the ears down on as they seem to give more depth and fun to the bunny. I used blackout shift for the head in nude.
The grass is from Plaintin Schholbook cut at 8 1/4" wide by 1" tall on green cardstock.
The eggs are ovals (from the bunnies tummy) that I stretched in DS.
Happy Easter everyone!

60th Birthday card
We recently had a special family birthday on St Patricks day so I put my thinking cap on. The card was for a man so I wanted to stay away from anything girly (which was hard). I also wanted to mark the special birthday so came up with the idea of a rosette found on Plantin Schoolbook. I wanted it to have alot of depth so I cut it twice at 5" and cut the 2nd rosette tracing the original so the rose part of it was layered on top and stuck with foam pads over the first rosette. I cut a circle in white to fit the centre and embossed with white dots. On the first rosette I embossed the ribbons with candy cane stripe and placed some sparkly peel offs in the grooves it created. This then flowed nicely with the '60' that I cut from holographic card from PS again. (sorry I can't remember the sizes). I then cut a background embossed in swiss dots and layered matching green card behind, and stuck all of this to a 8x6" card. I was really pleased with the overall effect especially as I started with the rosette and left it a few days and just before the party it all seemed to come together. I hope you like it.

Sweet Pea
With so many of my friends popping babies out at the moment, and the postman bringing my New Arrival cartridge, I decided to have a go and see what I could come up with. I wanted this card to be full of firsts for me. First go on the NA cart, first go at using chalks, first post on my blog and first go at a challenge! I noticed on the cuttlebug blog the challenge was green, so why not a Sweet Pea card? I'm not sure whether my entry will count bring from the UK but why not enjoy the fun!
The Sweet Pea is from New Arrival cut at 3 1/2", and the white circle again from New Arrival cut at 4 1/2". I used studio g chalks for adding shading to the face, and a black marker to fill the eyes. 'Sweet Pea' again is from New Arrival cut at 1 1/4" and used the blackout function for the blue. I used the cuttlebug to emboss with swiss dots the white background, and lettering, and used roses to emboss the blue blanket. I'm not sure where the backing paper is from, but this is then mounted on white card which is 8X6".(Please excuse my clumsiness at taking the photo - I took it against a white background so it looks a little wonky in the picture but it's not - promise!)
Thanks for looking!
